Growing up a Superhero with Bio-Kidz #probiotics

BioKidz New Probiotics

Strong immune system is very important for infants and kids. Children tend to get sick easily as their bodies grow and develop every single day. Colic, stomach irritation, allergy, constipation and other symptoms can be treated by taking probiotics supplements for adults. Researchers, medical professionals and nutritionists work hard to develop quality probiotic products for kids.

BioKidz

Children get in contact with bacteria and viruses especially when flue and cold season starts, respiratory illnesses spread pretty fast with sneeze and cough. Number of antibiotics consumed every year increases and it is now number one killer of probiotics. What are Probiotics? They are good bacteria which, when ingested in sufficient quantities, provides beneficial effects to our body, specifically for our digestive and immune systems. When the intestinal flora is unbalanced, then bad bacteria take over, it leads to illness, digestive problems, fatigue and affect significantly children’s health. After taking antibiotics our doctor always gives us prescription for probiotics, what is great, but Teddy is very picky with tastes and does not like them at all.

BioKids probiotics

I am glad that Bio-K Plus, Canadian company based in Quebec, recently launched new probiotic product Bio-Kidz designed to improve kids’ intestinal flora health and strengthen children immune system. It is made of gluten free 100% probiotic fermented milk for children and embodied in 3 superheroes, three good bacteria to protect intestinal flora. Bio-Kidz comes in a convenient single potion bottle in a liquid form and reminds a drinkable yogurt, but probiotic one. Our boy, with his love of milk but not yogurt, kefir, cottage cheese, surprisingly liked Bio-Kidz texture and strawberry and vanilla flavours. I think Bio-K did a good job creating Bio-Kidz, such a great combination of health benefits along with great taste, so that even our super picky boy likes drinking Bio-Kidz. Developed specifically for children, Bio-Kidz is a good source of calcium and vitamin D, and contains 12.5 billion bacteria of unique, natural and patented formula. Bio-Kidz is available in pharmacies, grocery stores and natural health food stores across Canada $10.99 for 6 bottles.

Healthy kids mean happy families, smarter students and strong communities, less sick days and more activities to enjoy.

You are the Best Caregiver Because You Already Do It #ElizzCaregiving

This post brought to you by Elizz. The content and opinions expressed below are that of Teddy Out Ready.
Elizz

It is not easy to care about another person. It does not matter if it is about little baby, aging parents, a relative or a friend. We all somehow become caregivers in our lives.

Caregiving is stressful and physically challenging, it takes much of your time, energy and resources. Though it did not scare me at first when I started to care about our parents, I love them so much that any difficulties seemed to me absolutely insignificant and irrelevant.
Cropped ad3bc760 ff6a 4b7a 9f98 2ae014af1b46
When my parents retired, out of stressful job and long commute, first, they were very excited to have a lot of free time to do what they like. New changes were not easy later, as they lost their everyday social connections and communicated mainly with own children and grandchildren. My mom often complained that she was locked in her house and had no places to go. So we started seeing each other more often, travelling and spending time together. From few hours a week our caregiving developed into new stages and now we need to take care of our parents due to their age and health concerns. I am happy we can take care of our parents and do not wish other life.

Everything was not smooth as we expected. I had days in my life when our emotional connections started to fade and we stopped talking about adventures, books, travels, ideas or celebrations as we used to. The communication between me and parents became limited to chores and basic needs. They started feeling like a burden in my life and I was getting some not so pleasant complains and remarks on how I do certain things. Like Natasha’s house is always cleaner than ours or Leon always remembers everyone’s birthdays. My mom started (sometimes inadvertently) to compare herself to ladies from other families and, if she deserves better care. One day, I lost my patience and did not wish to say anything nice, even knowing that it was so important. Sometimes verbal expressions keep you from being nice. I eventually realized it was a result of aging, retirement and some unfulfilled dreams or goals that influence people to search, question and even complain. Luckily, we managed to overcome these difficulties thanks to advice and support of more experienced caregivers and our community.

Being a caregiver means you learn something new every single day, for example how to share our responsibilities, how to keep work-life balance, organize multi-generation activities, how to be active together and many other things that make our life as a family easier and less stressful.

Elizz

I am glad I came across Elizz, because we do not have opportunities to visit counselling services and wait for support and conversation we need right now. Just a few words, a virtual pat on your back, informative articles like this one: Caregiver isolation and loneliness - finding mutuality, a forum and chat any time of the day or night makes me feel much better. It is good to know that we are not alone in our situations and always can rely on professional advice.

Are you a caregiver? Share your tips, communicate, ask and learn, we are all here at Elizz to create positive caregiving experience.

Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Signature Collection Now Available on Blu-ray

Last week we had a chance to join Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs screening at Scotia Bank Theatre in Toronto. This screening was a part of celebration, the Signature Collection release of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs first time on Digital HD and Blu-ray.

We had a wonderful opportunity to pose for photos with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (virtual ones) and enjoy this family-friendly movie. Little girls in Snow White costumes were big hit of the screening showing that they are truly fans of this wonderful story.

Snow White Screening

This classic story which was the absolute favorite when I was a child and now glad that our kids can enjoy it too with enhancements and recent digital updates. With modern animation features this Disney classic remains inspiring, fresh and always young. The movie is very interesting and I know that Teddy liked the Seven Dwarfs and their singing when he was a little baby. We also saw the Seven Dwarfs dancing at Disney on Ice, it was so much fun. Now Teddy can read the whole story in his Disney classic animation book, and finally stops asking some tricky questions like why the mirror talks. Teddy was not too much into the princess life story until Snow White left the palace and was lost in the forest.

This time when I watched the movie on a big screen, I enjoyed over and over again what the fairy tale brought us, especially music and songs.

Snow White

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is available already on Digital HD starting January 19 and on Blu-ray Combo Pack today, February 2. Join Disney magic and re-open your favorite story for yourself again with Walt Disney Signature Collection Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Activities

For the movie fans, there are amazing Activity Sheets to check along with the fairytale inspired crafts and recipes like Tissue Tube Dwarfs or Sleepy's Quick Energy Nuggets to enjoy your favorite story!
