Disneynature’s new film "Born in China" takes audiences on an exciting journey into the wilds of China.
The movie presents wild nature scenery in China which regular people have rare chance to see and experience. The film follows the stories of three animal families, whose life, struggles, love, care and adventures keep you on the edge of your seat. I can even say it is a documentary about real life of panda, monkey and snow leopard families. It is a whole wild world that exists with own rules, participants, struggles, joys and survival.
If you saw pandas in Toronto Zoo, then in wilderness these cute animals are having even more fun. While panda mom Ya Ya is busy rising her first baby Mei Mei, she shows how loving,caring and protective she is. There are amazing scenes in the movie when Ya Ya and her cub are cuddling together. There are also lots of funny moments with growing up cute and curious baby Mei Mei who explores the world by means of mishaps under protection of caring mother.
On China’s Qinghai Plateau, the highest mountain plateau on Earth live snow leopards. They are very difficult to locate due to their camouflage, precise vision and harsh environment conditions they live in. Snow leopard's white to yellow fur with a gray-and-black pattern helps them easily hide and come almost invisible to others. In the movie we follow the story of Dawa, snow leopard mother with two cubs. She fights for food and tries to keep the area she lives in safe from other predators. While snow leopards look beautiful and athletic like big cats, their life quite harsh. Low temperature, high altitude, snow, steep mountains - not many animals can survive this severe weather conditions. Raise a family becomes a challenge and real struggles make you stronger or kill you.
Next bright wilderness family to watch is golden snub-nosed monkeys. They live in the mountain valleys of central China and swing branch to branch in the leaf forests. To us it was first time to see monkeys like that. They are totally fun to watch, especially how big monkeys jump from one tree to another, almost never miss a branch. Tao Tao's adventures start when his family decide he is no longer need to be under mom's and dad's supervision and do not accept him back into the family. The movie shows those moments when Tao Tao is no longer a baby who needs protection and he has to start his own life as grown-up and build a new family. The conditions change a little when winter comes, so everyone in the family tries to stick together to survive (exactly as it sounds) cold winter days.
I think we learned so much after watching one movie. There are more animals presented in the movie like migrating chiru and flying cranes, you can feel that everyone is connected to each other. Viewers enjoy spectacular scenery, breathtaking images of nature and the wild life otherwise you probably will never see in your life. The best thing is that all of them are real creatures of our planet, who are living, struggling, fighting, rising families and being happy every single day.
The movie opens in theaters on April 21, 2017. Moviegoers who see Disneynature’s new True Life Adventure film "Born in China" during its opening week (April 21-27, 2017) will benefit the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). Based on opening-week attendance, Disneynature, via the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund, will make a contribution to the WWF to help protect wild pandas and snow leopards in China.
