Dolly Parton’s Coat of Many Colors is Now Available on DVD #TrueGift

Experience the magic and warmth of the television movie event that is based on the inspiring true story of living legend Dolly Parton's remarkable upbringing in rural Tennessee. Just in time for Mother's Day, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment released amazing autobiographic film Dolly Parton's Coat of Many Colors on DVD for the first time this week.

Dolly Parton's Coat of Many Colors DVD

The movie takes us to Tennessee Great Smoky Mountains at fifties where young Dolly and her family try to find support, love and hope after the tragedy, the tragedy where no one is guilty of but the life seems broken into small little pieces so difficult to put back together. Nine-year-old Dolly is not only creative, talented and hard-working; she is also the bravest and strongest when it comes to family and loved ones. If you want to know the story behind the well-known song Coat of Many Colors, the movies tells you about that. That raggedy patchwork coat which Dolly's mother made for her was like little pieces put together to make one colorful wear. Even when bullies tried to tear that coat at school and making jokes about it, Dolly is strong and unshakable insisting that the coat is beautiful and what her mom makes is perfect to wear. That school incident helps Dolly find new friends and family to re-connect with each other. Sometimes the inspiration and support come from simple actions and words. Dolly Parton, as a little girl, is such a shine and love for the family. She always has lots of questions to ask; never ashamed of being who she really is and loves her family so much. Dolly’s mother absolutely amazingly played by Jennifer Nettles is the loving, sharing and supportive. We watched the movie twice and we had a feeling that we actually transformed into Great Smoky Mountains, so vivid and real it is.

The DVD, which was out on May 3rd, has extra features along with Ms. Dolly Parton talks about the origin of her hit song “Coat of Many Colors”. Dolly Parton's Coat of Many Colors DVD is the true story of early age of the superstar. This year Dolly Parton is touring across North America, and we can see her performing in Canada in Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver and Toronto. Take a look if she is having a concert in your city and you can enjoy her performance and hear her hits, there are so many of them including breathtaking I Will Always Love You which Dolly Parton wrote in 1973 ( I did not even know that ).

Achieving 25 RIAA certified gold, platinum and multi-platinum awards, Dolly Partons has had 25 songs reach No. 1 on the Billboard Country charts, a record for a female artist. Dolly has garnered 7 Grammy Awards, 10 Country Music Association Awards, 5 Academy of Country Music Awards, 3 American Music Awards and is one of only five female artists to win the Country Music Association’s Entertainer of the Year Award.
