Welcome to the Back to School Blast!

Getting your family prepared to head back to school, can be difficult especially after a long, fun-filled summer. Here are a few of our favorite Back to School Tips to help you along the way.

1. Back-to-School Supplies Checklist - Backpack? Check. Pencils? Check. Safety scissors? Not Yet. Use the same checklist each time you head out to grab supplies, to keep track of what you have already purchased and the things you still need to. These are also handy if you have more than one child. Simply print 2, 3, 4 list and add their name to the top.

2.  Stock up on your snacks, both parents and kids will need them when busy school year starts.

3. Finish your regular car check-ups, make sure everything works properly and the car is clean of results of your summer trips, this way you have less chances to miss a ballet class or a field trip.

4. Plan to schedule all the kids activities in advance, also find a back-up support in case you stuck during rush hours or be busy at the meetings, someone from the family who will be able to take your kids from school or drive them to after school classes.

5. Do not forget about tech gadgets, these days even toddlers need some for their classes, besides tablets and ipads also time to get charges, storage devices, new headphones and speakers.

The Back to School Blast was organized by Mom Powered Media.

  1. For older children, before you take them shopping let them know what their monetary limit is. It will help with negotiations later.

  2. Shop the sales and maybe just wait until the first day of school when you get a supply list from the teacher before going out and buying everything except the most needed items like a bookbag and lunchbag, by then as well most school items will be on sale.

Bring the school supply list every time you go shopping in July and August - that way if you come across some great deals you will know what you need to scoop up by quickly looking at the list (and this will hopefully help you to stick to just buying items on the list, instead of buying things you don't need).
